The Great Barrier Reef is a declared World Heritage site and is a natural wonder of the world made up of more than 2500 kms of living Coral. It encompasses 350,000 sq kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean and is made up of 29,000 individual reefs and 71 coral cays . Its ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet including 1500 species of fish, 350 different corals 4000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges. Water temperature ranges from 22 degrees to 28 degrees Celsius allowing comfortable diving all year round.

At Cairns Dive Centre, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions. The basis of our training concept is through practice of scuba skills in the controlled environment of our Diver Training Centre. These skills, combined with the understanding of safe diving practices and theory, prepare you for the ultimate Great Barrier Reef experience.

Our instructors are very patient and friendly and if you require extra pool work to get your self-confidence up then we can offer you extra sessions with an instructor free of charge.

The MV Kangaroo Explorer is a modern 25 meter catamaran specifically designed for Queensland coastal cruising. Each of our 16 cabins (twin, double and 4 berth) is fully air-conditioned, carpeted has its own en-suite facilities and window. On the main deck there is a spacious saloon served by a top class galley and a well stocked bar. The top deck offers an enclosed air-conditioned sun lounge as well as an open and shaded sundeck. There is a library situated in the sun lounge for your enjoyment

The "Kangaroo Explorer" is equipped with a spacious dive deck providing easy access to and from the water.

This is a unique opportunity to cruise and dive through one of the world's great natural wonders in style and comfort. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast then relax on the sundeck between dives and let the world drift slowly by enjoying the remoteness of your location. As dusk settles get ready for a possible night dive. Our chef will tantalize your taste buds with excellent meals, freshly prepared on the boat. Most dietary requirements are catered for.

Advanced Dive Course $473 per person
3 days / 2 nights live-aboard on the reef. The Advanced course is available to divers holding open water certificates who wish to continue their dive education, increase their confidence and gain further knowledge of dive skills. 5 advanced training dives and up to 5 pleasure dives.

Rescue Course $528 per person
2 days pool and theory followed by 3 days / 2 nights liveaboard on the reef. Students must hold on advanced open water certificate and a current resuscitation or CPR certificate.

Dive Master Course $1562 per person
Training for dive leaders. 14 days including 4 days/3 nights liveaboard on SV Atlantic Clipper, plus up to three day reef diving trips.

DOWN UNDER DIVE

After your 4 or 5 day course you will receive your certification which is an Internationally recognised Divers License. Whatever your questions on diving, from the simple to the most technically advanced, you can be sure of a helpful answer from your friendly experienced Down Under Dive Instructor.
