The Great Barrier Reef is a declared World Heritage site and is a natural wonder of the world made up of more than 2500 kms of living Coral. It encompasses 350,000 sq kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean and is made up of 29,000 individual reefs and 71 coral cays . Its ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of life on this planet including 1500 species of fish, 350 different corals 4000 species of molluscs and 10,000 species of sponges. Water temperature ranges from 22 degrees to 28 degrees Celsius allowing comfortable diving all year round.

This brand new, up-market superfast catamaran is without a doubt one of the most professional and intimate dive experiences available to you on the Great Barrier Reef. Departing from Port Douglas and catering to a maximum of only 12 divers in comfortable shared and private accommodation you are assured of a dive experience second to none. With a cruising speed of 18knots, she is the fastest live-aboard in the area enabling you to spend more time in the water with less travelling time. Reef destinations include the famous Cod Hole, the beautiful Ribbon Reefs and the very exciting and pristine Coral Sea dive locations.

COD HOLE - 2 days / 2 Nights

9 Dives, including 2 night dives
Check in Wednesday 8.15 am / Returns Friday 9.30 am

Day 1 - sees you making your way North along the Agincourt and Ribbon Reef systems. Here you can enjoy 3 day dives and a night dive. The night dive you choose may be included as part of the optional advanced diving course.

Day 2 - Thursdays include diving at the famous Cod Hole and other sites such as Shark Alley and Dynamite Pass as well as the Northern Ribbons. Another night dive completes the day.

On Friday morning there is time for one last dive and breakfast, before departing the Great Barrier Reef for the trip back to Port Douglas.

Snorkellers are welcome to join in and have the opportunity to enjoy a free introductory dive.

CORAL SEA & COD HOLE - 3.5 Days / 4 Nights

14 Dives, including 3 night dives
Check in 6 pm Friday / Returns approximately midday Tuesday

Day 1 - Travelling overnight from Port Douglas you will awake at the magnificent Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea. Schedule may be reversed depending on weather conditions.

Osprey Reef is renowned for its one kilometre drop offs, awesome water clarity and abundant shark life. Black V Whalers, Reef Sharks, Silvertips, Great Hammerheads and Rays are all to be found at Osprey.

Day 2 - Once the diving is complete at Osprey, you then travel back to the Great Barrier Reef diving the magnificent Cod Hole and Ribbon Reefs. On all dives during the trip you can choose to dive with your buddy, or at no extra charge, join one of the dive crew on a guided dive.

Day 3 begins at Agincourt for two dives before heading back to Port Douglas.

TAKA DIVE

Taka Dive operate extended live-aboard dive trips of 4 and 5 days to remote regions of the Northern Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea on our fully equipped Dive Vessel, Taka II. They drop anchor at many different diving locations on their dive trips. Adventure diving at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea where you will see an exciting shark feed with amazing drop-offs and 30 m plus visibility and the Giant Potato Cod and Maori Wrasse at the Cod Hole......just to name a few.

Tuesday Departure
You are picked up from your Cairns accommodation at 5.00 pm and transferred to TAKA II. The vessel then travels overnight heading north inside the Great Barrier Reef, arriving at the cod Hole the next morning. The first dives are at the Cod Hole where huge schools of fish and Maori Wrasse compete with the large family of giant Potato cod for a fish dinner. Over the next two days you are diving on the Ribbon Reefs which are spectacular with a great diversity of marine life, giant clam and coral gardens. Two night dives are included in this trip, and TAKA II arrives back into Cairns at approximately 3.30 pm.

Friday Departures
You are picked up from Cairns accommodation at 5.00 pm and transferred to TAKA II. The vessel then travels overnight heading north inside the Great Barrier Reef, arriving at the Cod Hole the next morning.
The first dives are at the Cod Hole where huge schools of fish and Maori Wrasse compete with the large family of Giant Potato Cod for a fish dinner. Early morning on day three, TAKA II arrives at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea. There are four dives in this location including the exciting shark feed at North Horn and stunning wall dives with large Gorgonian fan corals and huge pelagics. The visibility in the Coral Sea is 30 metres plus!!

Over the next two days we are diving on the Ribbon Reefs which are spectacular with a great diversity of marine life, giant clams and coral gardens. Two night dives are included in this trip, and TAKA II arrives back into Cairns at approximately 3.30 pm on Tuesday.

The premier overnight Great Barrier Reef Dive and Sail Vessel in Cairns. A 140ft tall ship - she combines the adventure and romance of sailing with state of the art equipment and modern facilities. Air-conditioned throughout, she offers accommodation in comfortable 2,3 or 4 berth cabins.
